May 2007 Centuries This list is
not a complete list of Centuries in the area, only Selected Centuries in the
current month. If you have one that you think we should add to this list
forward the information on it to vicepresident@duro.org. The club century is the Wine Country Century. The Davis Double Century riders will receive two points. May 5, 2007: Wine Country Century 100K, 100 mile, and 200K options. 100 miler has about 3300 feet of climbing. Starts at Luther Burbank Center. Ride heads west to Graton and Occidental and returns via River Road. This century is a nice way to see Sonoma County. Fee is $40 before April 15 and $55 after. Online registration only. The ride starts at Campolindo High School, 300 Moraga Rd, Moraga not Miramonte High School. Morning loop goes north and climbs Pinehurst, Grizzly Peak, the Bears, and Pig Farm Hill. Afternoon loop goes south via Skyline and returns via Redwood road. Lots of climbing but you already knew that. Registration is $40. or 707-269-0235. May 19, 2007: Davis Double Century For those of you who would like to do their first double, this is the one. Only 7,000 feet of climbing in 200 miles as you go from Davis to Lake Berryessa and back. Tandems are our friends especially coming back to Davis along Putah Creek and into a headwind. Sponsored by Davis Bike Club. Registration is online only and is $70 for a single and $140 for a tandem. Registration closes May 12th or when limit is reached.
